Staring at the sun for maybe a little too long and even the apparent smoothness of the sky takes on a granular appearance.
In an attempt to capture what we see and not what we think we see, the beautiful colors in this abstract take on a motion and varying gestault when
viewed from different distances.
When does it become proper to call something abstract? For the push to capture what we see becomes a probe of the psychological barriers to perception that the mind encounters along the way. To find the subject of this painting in nature you have to do more than just look around.
